How do I read the dimensions of a case?
The dimensions listed in the product description will also indicate whether the dimensions provided are for the Inside Dimensions of the case (ID) or the overall Outside Dimensions of the case (OD), unless the description states “Foam to Foam” which indicates the dimensions of the foam cavity if applicable.

Most of our cases are fabricated at time of order. Slight variances of up to 1/8" on foam cavity final dimensions are normal and within industry tolerances; therefore, dimensions are stated as “Estimated”.

What is your delivery schedule?

In addition to transit time required by the shipping carrier, delivery times can vary on a number of factors including: stock availability, custom requirements, factory production time. Please see our Factory Lead Times section to help you determine the time required to ship your product. In most situations, you may select an expedited level of service to meet your delivery requirements.

Do you carry NSN (National Stock Numbered) Cases?

Yes. We carry an assortment of NSN cases - please enter your NSN number into the search field (dashes included, example: 8145-01-540-4437). You may also request a quotation for NSN Cases, by visiting our quote request form.

Do your cases meet Mil-Spec requirements?

Yes. We distribute several lines of transit and shipping containers which conform to MILSPEC requirements such as MIL-STD 810. Please contact our sales specialists with your Mil-Spec requirements.

How much will my case weigh?

Case weights will vary from product to product. Please note, the weights and dimensions specified in product descriptions do not include additional options added to your order. For example, Rotomolded Single Lid cases list the weight and outside dimensions without additional options such as casters.

Are options included in the price of the case?

No. There is an additional cost for most options. If purchasing the product through our online store, the options will be listed as “+ $10.00” or “Add $10.00”. The base price of the product and options will be itemized in the shopping cart.

Please note, you may not remove an option from the product once placed in the cart. You must remove the item and re-add the product with the correct options.

How do I know what type of rackmount case I need?

Selecting your rackmount case will depend on a number of factors including: Shock and vibration rating, equipment weight, equipment depth in addition to transport and environmental requirements.  Our design staff will be happy to assist you in configuring a rack mount case to meet your exact needs.

For more information on rackmount cases, please click here.

What is a “U” or rack space?

A standard rack space is approximately 1.75 inches (4.4445 cm) in height. Standard EUI rackmount width is 19 inches (48.26 cm) width. Rack spaces are commonly referred to as a “U” - such as “5U Rack Case” or “3U Rack Drawer”.

Can I have my company name placed on the case?

Yes. Cases2Go has many resources available for custom labeling at an additional charge. Anvil cases include complimentary stenciling on up to two sides with up to 4 lines. Please contact your sales specialist with your requirements.

Are all cases airtight and/or watertight?

No. Airtight and watertight features vary by product line.

As a general rule, injection molded cases such as Pelican-Storm, Pelican Protector and SKB cases feature a pressure relief valve and o-ring to create a watertight and airtight seal. Pelican-Hardigg, SKB and ZERO “rotomolded” containers such as single lid sizes and rackmount cases require a pressure relief valve and closed-loop gasket. Pelican containers come standard with an open-loop gasket without a PRV unless an airtight or watertight seal is specifically requested.

Anvil and ZARGES cases are classified as water “resistant” containers and will require additional options to achieve an airtight and watertight seal.

What case colors are available?

Colors applicable to each product will be listed in the product description. Varying by the type/manufacturer of case, additional colors may be available for a minimum quantity or color charge.

Do you make custom case sizes?

Yes. Custom case sizes are available for a minimum quantity. Please contact your sales specialist with your requirements.

How do I know if the product meets airline carry-on or baggage regulations?

Different airlines have different sizes restrictions. The general rule of thumb is 45 linear inches (length + width + depth) with a maximum of 40 pounds for carry-on. Most check in baggage is limited to 62 linear inches (length + width + depth) with a maximum of 50 pounds. For a summary of airline baggage policies see our Travel Guidelines section and contact your airline to confirm their current policies.  Our design staff will be happy to help you find cases that meet carry on or luggage restrictions.

What makes a case "X-Ray" or "Checkpoint Friendly"?

Laptop cases described as “X-Ray Friendly” allow your laptop computer to remain inside the case during airline security checkpoints. However, screening officers, at their discretion may request that your laptop be removed for inspection.

A bag or sleeve meets checkpoint friendly guidelines if the bag or sleeve provides a clear, unobstructed, x-ray image of the laptop computer. In practice, this means that all power cords, zipper, buttons must not interfere with the x-ray image.

Please see our X-Ray Friendly section for qualified styles.

Do you need accessory compartments in your case?
Are casters required?
Will you need to lock your case?
Do you prefer a Pad-lock, Keylock or Comination Lock?
How portable will you need your case to be? Will there be an outside dimensional restriction? How will you be transporting your case? I.e.: Wheeled, via forklift, etc. Will the case travel by car, van, plane or truck?
Most standard doorways are limited to 32” left to right.
You may want to consider and aluminum or XLT construction for air transport as additional weight charges may apply for heavier loads.
